Thread lifting with PDO threads in Vienna
Thread lifting, also called happy lifting, meso lifting or queen lifting, is an efficient method of wrinkle treatment without surgery. In our dermatological practices in Vienna-Währing and Tulln, Dr. Orasche has been using this gentle method to tighten the skin for more than 20 years.
Thread lifting brief information
First ordination:
During your first appointment, we will provide you with detailed information about the method, the expected results and possible risks. We will discuss which areas are to be treated and how many stitches are to be used.
Preparation:
On the day of treatment, the face is cleaned and disinfected. Local anaesthetic or a numbing cream is applied to the areas to be treated to make the procedure painless.
Marking:
Points are marked where the sutures are inserted. These markings serve as a guide during the procedure.
Inserting the PDO threads:
The absorbable PDO threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The threads have tiny barbs that anchor themselves in the tissue and cause an immediate tightening effect. At the same time, they stimulate collagen production, which leads to a long-term improvement in skin structure.
Completion of the treatment:
Once all the stitches have been placed, the skin is disinfected again. Final cooling can minimise swelling and redness.
Aftercare:
The patient is given instructions on how to care for the treated areas. It is recommended to avoid strong facial expressions and pressure on the treated areas for the first few days. Sport and sauna should be avoided for about a week.
Follow-up check:
A follow-up appointment is arranged to assess the result and ensure that the healing is progressing as expected.
Treatment with PDO sutures usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of sutures used and the area treated.
Patients are usually able to socialise immediately or within a few days. However, slight swelling or bruising may occur, which usually disappears quickly.
Possible side effects include slight swelling, redness, bruising and temporary pain at the injection sites. In rare cases, infections or asymmetries may occur.
The typical results of a thread lift are an immediate tightening and contour improvement, increasing skin firmness and elasticity through Stimulated collagen productionand a long-lasting rejuvenation of the skin, which reaches its peak after a few months and lasts for around 12 to 18 months.
Treatment: from 300,- €*
*Guide prices: The treatment costs depend on the method and number of PDO sutures to be placed.

How thread lifting works in Vienna
Thin threads (meso threads) made of biodegradable material tighten the tissue and stimulate the production of collagen. Unlike conventional lifting, there are no scars!
The very fine PDO threads are pulled under the skin under local anesthesia. These provide support for the tissue and lead to increased collagen production in the affected areas. This results in a double lifting effect! The PDO threads are completely degraded after about 6 to 8 months, so there is no risk of slippage or rejection.

Frequently asked questions about thread lifting
How long does the treatment with thread lifting take?
The duration of treatment varies depending on the area treated and the number of threads. Usually, however, the duration of a session does not exceed about 30 minutes.
Is thread lifting painful?
The extent to which the thread lift hurts is also related to the patient's personal perception of pain. As a rule, thread lifting is perceived as painless.
The PDO threads are pulled in under local anesthesia. However, due to the small diameter of the needle and thread (about like an acupuncture needle), there is no need to worry about pain afterwards!
When can the usual lifestyle be resumed?
The usual lifestyle can be resumed immediately due to the low invasiveness of the treatment. Possible minor irritations of the skin surface disappear after a few hours.
Are there complications or risks with thread lifting?
Thread lifting does not cause any scars, no irritation of the skin. The threads are completely degraded after 6-8 months, so there can be no rejection.
As PDO lifting is a (minimally) invasive treatment, there are general risks, such as wound healing problems, bruising and mild local pain. Usually these thread lift problems are minimal.
How long does the effect of thread lifting last?
The first results are already visible immediately after the treatment. The tightening effect, which is due to the increased collagen production of the skin, reaches its peak after about one month. After 12 to 18 months, the treatment can be performed again.
For which parts of the body can thread lifting be used?
Thread lifting is used for lifting the cheeks, for defining the cheekbone, for the chin line, lifting and narrowing the bridge of the nose, lifting the eyebrows, repairing small wrinkles, opening the nasal fold, for the double chin, hands, neck, inner thighs and arms.
How much does the Thread Lift treatment cost?
The cost of a thread lift is very limited compared to the cost of a facelift. The price for a thread lift depends on factors such as the location, the skin structure and the number of threads used. Therefore, information about the treatment costs can only be given after a personal consultation. We ask for your understanding.
